Tough Task for Redknapp in 2012
When Harry Redknapp signed up for the QPR job, he knew he was in for a tough task. The last few weeks have shown to him that not only will it be tough, it will be almost impossible to keep QPR up.
On 30th December at Loftus Road against a inconsistent Liverpool team, QPR for the 1st half lacked any fight and were toothless - as epitomised by their striker, Djbrill Cisse, who subsequently was taken off at half-time.
All 3 goals were scored in the first half as Liverpool, driven by the deadly Luis Suarez, punished QPR for lacklusture defending. Clint Hill and Ryan Nelson were never sure whether to stick to Suarez or stand-off. And it was that uncertainty which led to both of Suarez' goals. The first from Clint Hill backing off and the second Suarez beating Nelson to a header. Liverpools third goal came courtesy of Daniel Agger - note it was his first away goal for Liverpool FC.
QPR showed a bit more resolve in the 2nd half by a) not conceding and b) stringing together a few passes. Yes they tested Reina but nothing to really write about so i won't. Harry Houdini will now really have to show us his magic tricks and he tries to save a team full of talented individuals.
Liverpool, without Brendan Rodgers at the ground due to illness, continue to leave thier fans questioning what the next game will bring. For now they go into the New Year knowing that Luis Suarez is still fit and Steven Gerrard is slowly recapturing some form
